Ordered my first yesterday. New Hi Power Standard, 13 rounds, fixed sites. $707.00, including shipping. Should get it early next week. This is the first time I've bought a gun from these guys; bought a crapload of magazines and never been disappointed. Have to order guns over the phone.

Thanks. I've also recently bought an Arcus 98 DA, which is a Bulgarian, double action "clone" of the BHP. I've shot it twice for a total of 300 rounds and it has run great, with no failures. The DA trigger started out as a bear, but between live firing and dry firing, it is smoothing out. I shoot better with it than any pistol I own (including a CZ75). I'll check out hipowertalk.

Browning High Power is a Classic...

I don't know too much about em except there seem to be a lot different grades of em around....Parts made in Belgium assembled in S. America...what's up with that?

Anyway...judging by the price you paid, I'd say you went for quality...which I think is the best way...

Getting by on the cheap rarely renders a satisfactory purchase.

Congrats...Post pics when you got em

+1 on trigger after mag disconnect is out. The MkIII's (from experience) are tops when it comes to 9mm. I foolishly let someone talk me out of one years ago. They used to joke mine would feed a garbage can. Truthfully I put most types of rounds through it and never had a jam...even when rotating it to try.

Never seen a Hi-Power like that. There's countries all over the world that make em. Never seen one from anywhere that wasn't a shooter. Post a report on it. Wouldn't mind getting one in a 9 to go with my 40.
It's made in Bulgaria and is not a "true" clone in that it is double action. Both single action and double action trigger were rough out of the box, but have both loosened up significantly after 300 rounds and much dry-firing. I'm not that great a shot, but I already shoot better with it than any of my other 9mms. The finish leaves something to be desired, but for 350.00 new, you really can't expect too much. Sort of reminds me of my Bersas, shoot great but sort of ugly. It's a 15 rounder, but they also make a compact version which I think is 13 rounds and two tone. I was really looking for a FM Argentine Hi Power and came across the Arcus by accident. Got it from a place called Denver Guns and Ammo. Pleased with it so far, course it may blow up next week.
