Started out on a cheapie folding table, so I could figure out (hopefully) what I needed as a permanent solution. Spent a good bit of the last two days working on it. The finished (sort of, more on that later) product:

I wanted it sturdy and HEAVY. I think I achieved that. I can hang all 150 lbs of my scrawny self on the front edge and it doesn't budge. Legs are 4 x 4's, top apron 2 x 4's, lateral bracing is 1 x 4. Height is 32", top size 48 x 32 plus trim. The top is 2 x 6 pine, topped with 3/8 plywood, finished off with melamine "marker board" sheet from Lowe's that conveniently comes precut at 32 x 48. I've used this stuff before on similar tops and it holds up pretty well. It's just screwed down so if you're really fussy it can be replaced when it gets worn. The edging is 1 x 3 soft pine because it's cheap. I routed some blind dados in the legs for the braces. I think the key (besides the weight) is the 2 " overhang on the front. It lets the press cycle.

Phase Two will be a cabinet with sliding doors for the bottom. It will hold bulky stuff: tumbler, media screen, brass sorter, etc. Also a 15" deep cabinet on top for everything else.

Okay, IT'S DONE! Was supposed to be working on redoing the laundry room, adding a pantry & broom closet, but this was way more fun. Built the two cabinets, got everything organized, ready now to give the right arm a serious workout.

Only downside is now the rest of the shop is looking a little ratty...Hmmm.

Very nice, good pics detailing the steps along the way. I am going to be having to redo my reloading room as well. We will be moving to another house in the next few months and i will have to start all over again. I plan to build something similar to what you have done and these pics will be of assistance.

YES..... Very nice Shoe. You appear to be a wizard with wood....

Question/Suggestion..... Is the bench in your garage? If it is, I would not store powder, primers, dies, etc. in the garage. The lack of climate control (aka: humidity) will not be good......

Very nice Steve, great attention to detail. You got a nice set of tools to go with it.
I got to get busy on one myself, been using a workmate bench rigged up so everything is spread out. I shall steal many of your ideas along with 'Necks.
Dan, good tip on the garage, didn't really think about that. Was thinking about putting it out there. Grandson is going to have to give up some of the space he adversely took possession of in "his" room.

No garage, it's in a heated/cooled shop building off my carport. Climate control always on, don't want my stuff freezing, molding, or rusting!

I am only half-kidding when I say I bought the shop and the house just came along with it. :p
