Made a trip to South Dakota a few weeks ago, my Dad invited me on this hunt for my birthday. This is the most action packed hunting I have ever done. Got to put some use to my Stoeger 2000 I bought last year and had yet to use. Gun did great, never missed a lick out of 10 boxes of shells, through rain, snow, and freezing temps. 120 Pheasants in 6 days. A great hunt full of awesome memories.

back in the 80s and 90s a couple of buddies and I would make the treck to Kansas every year and chase them there ringnecks ... Some of the most enjoyable hunting I have ever done. One year we decided to travel on up to SD .. stayed and hunted a couple days and then back down to KS. Unless you know someone in SD with a bunch of property SD has become hard to hunt for the average guy wanting to hunt on his/her own ... everything under lease and paid hunts are now the normal!! Did check into to public land but seemed too much like a hassle ... OH Well - capitalism at work!

Great to hear ya'll had a mighty-fine time!! Memories are made this way!!

If u ever have a chance go! Yeah there are alot of those high dollar "pheasant lodges" up there. We were lucky enough to pin down some private land to hunt. As i understand it though, the indian reservations are reasonable to hunt. Lots of pretty country there, and lots of big deer. Couldn't afford a deer tag though.
