WOW! We are already into February and the cold weather will soon be behind us (I hope) and spring will not be far behind. If we want to hold another Camp McCain AR Shoot sometime in May or June, I need to get on the ball and secure some dates from Camp McCain.

We have added 500+ members to MSGO since our last Camp McCain outing. After some discussion last year with Camp McCain Range, we were able to secure the 300 meter US Army qualification rifle range at Camp McCain in order to permit MSGO and Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club members to fire the Army rifle qualification course. Rifle caliber is limited is 5.56 (.223). We had more than 30 shooters and had a ball!! Here are a couple links to a few of the threads explaining and discussing the shoot.

Do we want to do it again in the spring or wait until the fall? I think we learned a lesson not to do it when the weather is 95 degrees!!

Interested? You can use this thread to express your interest or ask questions about the event.

Do bears $hit in the woods...........?

HECK YEAH ! ! !

The month of May would be my 1st choice.

Also please check on the availability and cost of renting the 600+M range. Maybe Uncle Sam will give us a discount for renting 2 ranges.....

I don't care if it's 105 in the shade, I'll be there. Date unimportant, this will trump anything else.

I'm interested depending on my schedule at the time.

I don't have the luxury of knowing when I may have to work a weekend on short notice, so it's kind of "catch as catch can" in planning my leisure activities.

I'm in if'n I ain't workin' that weekend.

:D

I've only been waiting for months to do it again. I would love to get ahold to the 600 yd range if possible. We may need to have people grouped together and you shoot with your group when it's that groups turn. It worked great last year just shooting when you wanted but I think we may have a greater attendance this year. Also if we shoot in rotations certain people could be trained to run the range and others in the group not shooting be range officers. That way everyone gets their turns to shoot. Captain and the others that put last years on spent most of their day in the control tower so we need to make sure those guys gracious enough to set this up get to have just as much fun as the rest of us.

Thought May was the Meet and Greet Month and possibly the Magnolia club annual meeting month....

Lots of events
Annual Magnolia Meeting currently scheduled for March 5th and M&G III for April 30th. These are still tenative until approved by Magnolia.
