After up at 6 AM and in school at 7 AM and on the range at 7:30 AM...... The MSGO - Camp McCain AR-15 Shoot was a long FUN and HOT day.

PICTURES - I am hoping Shoe and others took a bunch of pictures because I didn't take that many. Too busy registering people and trying to keep up with all the score cards. And then trying to stay cooler when ever possible. I will post some pictures later tonight or in the morning (depends on how long I last...).

SCORES - This is my next project. When I finish this post I am going to compile and post the scores............

BUT FIRST ! ! ! I want to get near the head of the line forming to extend a BIG THANKS to Captain for ALL his HARD WORK before and during the shoot today. I was around him more than most of you and he WORKED HIS BUTT OFF for this shoot. He stayed in the range tower most of the day (with AC in there, he was smart) running the COFs and keeping in touch with Range Control so we would not get in trouble with them. Captain... THANK YOU so much for what you have done. PS: I owe you $6....

ROs and Range Clean Up - MANY MANY thanks to the ones that spent MANY HOT relays working as ROs. The shoot ran smoothly because of you. And finally, many thanks to the ones that helped "clean" the range for Final Inspection. I understand we passed with flying colors. And the soldiers from Camp McCain invited us back again. I smell a Spring Shoot.......

OK............. Now to try to compile the scores. Back in a few hours..... I hope.

Yes sir. Captain did a hell of a job. :youdaman:

As did you SubGun!

A spring shoot on the big gun range would be sweet! Even the pistol range would be fun too!
For those of you that missed it, you missed it!

It was a LOT of fun. Thanks to Captain for putting this together and for letting me shoot his ARs. For the first time having shot them I must say they are addicting. Oh and for all you who heard Hammer's smack talk before he and I shot this afternoon. I did manage to out shoot him by 7 shots and all the smack talking from before we shot he was very quiet on the way home. ROFLMBO :)

I'm on the low end of the total hits number but that's alright with me. I wanted to burn some powder with good people and have fun and that's what I did. Thanks Captain, SubGunFan and all the other RO's for the fun day. Now I really have the AR itch! Just have to find what I want to scratch it with so many options.

WOW that's a LOT of rounds. We could have seriously laid seige to soemthing with all those rounds.
Hope ya'll had a friendly bet on it. Post some pictures of Hammer wearing a apron loading the dishwater and running that vacuum. Had a good time today myself, 1st granddaughter's first birthday. She brought in the haul.
Would like to go in the spring if ya'll can get it together. Can't wait for the pic's. SGF is as good behind a camera as he is with a firearm.

Once again, thanks to all who organized this shoot. Being prior military, I have shot one of these ranges but they were not nearly as fun as what we did today. I had an awesome time shooting with all of you today. This was one of the most fun shoots I have been to. Looking forward to another one.

Thanks to Captain 03, Sub Gun Fan, Mr. Ralph, and all those who helped make this match happen, but also those who worked as range officers. My two sons, Steven (12) and Phillip (10) had a blast shooting the rifles and targets. They were both hitting great with the scoped M4's all the way out to 300 meters. Tyler did great and Betty had a terrible headache but hung in there and finally shot the last stage. Thanks to all who stayed and helped pick up brass, trash, and kept everything looking good. Again thank you all for putting on such a memorable match. Put us down for the Spring Match, can't wait!

The SCORES.......

OK guys & gals... Here are the scores.

NOTE: I used the sign-in sheet to start the names. The scores are in no certain order. "?" means no info provided or I question the info.....

Maximum possible score is 40.

I hope this WHOLE image shows up on your PCs. If you see Relay 10, you got it.............

Also, if you can open a Microsoft Excel file, email me (not PM) and I will email you a copy of the file.

NOW.......... Time to edit and post a few PICTURES............
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Added by Captain-03 at the request of a board member:

There are seven targets that can appear in each firing lane at ranges from 50m to 300m. Each target stays up for a predetermined amount of time (seconds) - the targets appear in random with multiple targets appearing at times. A relay consists of 40 targets and the firer has 40 rounds to engage the 40 targets. A relay last a little more than 3 minutes. The scores are number of hits out of 40 rounds shot.

Next time. More practice, better ammo, and optics. It was great meeting all of you. I had a blast even though the tula and lack of a clean rifle killed me. I look forward to another shoot. Thank you to everyone who put this together.

It was a hot day, but a great and fun day. I don't want to wait until Spring to do it again (six months!). I may not BE a *******, but I sure HAVE a red neck.

On to some Pics. There are lots (most) folks I don't know their names, so I'll number the photos and you all can chime in with details. I'll edit the captions as more info appears.

OK..... Some More Pictures...

Hammer...... getting whooped by................

Mrs. Hammer......... Sorry Hammer, you had an even chance to beat her............

A "rare" picture of Captain working on those GREEN PLASTIC ARMY MEN.........

HEY... This foxhole is too deep.

The Range Control Tower. aka..... Captain's Nest.....

Yeap..... A BUNCH of ammo was burned up today......

The Ammo Building (ammo staging area). Notice the yellow wagon... ScottW came prepared... That wagon contains a mini generator and BIG fan. MANY people enjoyed that setup today...........

Maybe we will not have wait so long to return to Camp McCain. Maybe a Winter Shoot. However, whenever we return.... it will take you folks to help set things up. I still have a bunch of ammo to burn because my Shortie played out on me during the fun/open shooting......
