Can somebody explain the Mississippi law regarding deer hunting over bait to me? I am not a hunter but know many who do. And they hunt over green patches, corn feeders, salt licks, etc.
Here is the Mississipi web site:
http://home.mdwfp.com/License/info.aspx?id=13
It says, "It is illegal to hunt or trap any wild animal or wild bird with the aid of bait."
But there are numerous opinions on what that means.
Here is one example:

This article is very ambiguous. It makes no sense at all to me. It says that you cannot feed them corn during hunting season---but you can feed the pelletized food during hunting season.
It says that hunters are not allowed to place feeders on their property but feeders must be at least 100 yards from property lines. Who would put a feeder on someone else's property?
