Has anybody around here taken a carbine course? If so, where, and how much. Also, what gear would you need besides the weapon, mags, and ammo? I am interested in getting some professional training with the AR.

What type class are you looking for -- familiarization, tactical, target, etc ... what type carbine are you making reference to?

I'm not sure captain. When you say familiarization, do you mean with the weapon? I do feel pretty faimiliar with the weapon, but I don't want to be overly confident in my particular rifle without testing it , or my skills, if you know what I mean. I guess I'm leaning more on tactical, but real world for a civilian. Is there such a beast out there?

Check out Sherman Hills and what courses they offer .. a couple of them may suite your need ..... I took the Combat Rifle course last year ... learned a few things!!

i have seen some guys offer PDW type classes like mp5s full auto glocks sbr sbs kinda stuff

I too was going to suggest Shootrite. I have not taken a course from them, yet, but have heard good things. If you, or anyone else, takes a course from them, please let me know how it was.
