I have had some rather scary intestinal problems over the last week (I'll save you the gory details, believe me "rather scary intestinal ..." is all you want to know) anyway my wife set me up an appointment and I fully intend to carry there since I carry everywhere. My question is regarding what I am supposed to do with my weapon should I have to disrobe? Awkward question, I know but it dawned on me that the nature of my ailment may require removal of my pants thus creating a problem (aside from the obvious ones).

I havent been to a doctor in years so I dont know this one, if I did know them I imagine carrying would be less of a problem.

suggestions? experience?

I went in for a couple MRIs not long back ... went to two different locations to have them done. I had to strip down to underware and wear that stupid hospital gown. I was carrying both times. I just put the weapon in the locker they provided to me to place my valuables. You should make sure the doctor office has a place to place your valuables ... put it in the same place as your wallet ...

I had a weird moment at the doctors office one day. He asked me to hop on the scales and I was like OH CRAP I have my pistol on my pocket. I had not thought about it until that second. I wish I had to disrobe, but I was just there for a check up and he wanted to poke all over me. I had to tell him that I was carrying, he was cool about it though.

Yeah, my Doc and me talk guns, he's got a glock 20 among others. If I were on that gas, someone would have to bring me home and I would leave all my valuables with that person. Had surgury to move a nerve at my elbow. Left about a 6" scar but I can remember talking to the anasteologist (sp) (can't remember what was said though) while they cut down to the bone. Whatever I was on had me too doped up to be around a firearm, woulda shot my eye out.

well I went to the appointment...and it was unpleasant (like I said "intestinal problems") when the time came I just informed the doc I was carrying and he looked at me like...so? (I didnt just want to produce a firearm and cause mayhem) so I sat it on the table and he asked what it was then said "cool" when I told him, I wasnt really in the mood to talk guns because I knew what was about to go down so we left it at that.

I had a checkup a few weeks ago with my doc and I was carrying the whole time. The nurse that weighed me commented that I'd put on a few pounds since the last visit. I just grinned.

In the last few days my daughter was born, and i've been carrying the whole time at the hospital.

I have a humerous story from one unplanned visit to the hospital.

I was at work and cut about half way through my "pinky" finger....long story, and had to go to the E.R.

They did x-rays, and called in the plastic surgeon, aparently plastic surgeons "do" the majority of hand injuries.

I'm sitting on the table when he walks in (a younger guy, looked maybe early to mid 30's) and puts my x-rays, up on the viwer. "Yes, you did a number on it." Then he begins to tell me what he's going to have to do. Insert a needle into the webbing between my ring and pinky fingers about 2", it looked like 2' to me.
Up to this point he hadn't really looked at me, just at the X-ray viewer.
After showing me where he's going to put the needle (on the viewer) he says "now, it's going to sting some" and then turns around.

He sees me sitting there in BDU's, a t-shirt, wearing my duty rig, and his eyes kinda bug out.

He then says " My Daddy told me not to ever lie to a man with a gun....this is gonna hurt like a M***** F*****"

We laughed, then he proved he wasn't lying.
