Anyone doing it? I recently purchased a Lee 2 cav 440gr gas check mould but have yet to cast the first bullet .... anyone use this mould? I really hated paying 5cnts a piece for gas checks!! How hard an alloy are you using?

I use this mold and load it with 10 grains of Trail Boss and straight WW's. I'm sure it'd be fine without the gascheck but how would you lube it?

I have a lube/sizer -- sizes to 501 ...

I think Cotton is refering to lube in the gas check groove when not using gas checks.

Captain, a Star would take care of that............

Was not thinking of it that way. Actually have never loaded any without the check. You right, the Star would do the job!! Now just give me one of yours!! :thumbup:

Don't want to do that -- may need to shoot a grizzly if he comes around my back yard so I may need to load them HOT ... :lol:

Well on a side note I have read of people using hard wax as a gas check.. bet it smokes like crazy
