I bought a kimber with a 3 inch barrel last time i was home. need a cc holster for it any recomendations ? im not the biggest guy so i dont have any extra padding to help me break up the out line.

I tote my Kimber compact cdp(same frame as your ultra but with a 4" slide) in a Milt Sparks VM2. I picked it up at a gun show for about $5 over retail, or you could order one through ms and wait 6mos. I personally love this holster, as most do. Also check 1911forums.com, usually ideas decent stuff there. Better than most huge forums like that anyway.

+1 on VM2- so worth the money. I got on mailing list at topgunsupply.com and they emailed me when they got some in, wait was not as long as ordering direct. BUT you have to be fast when you get the email they dont last long.

I would say for that size a VM2 would be awesome but for the money and less wait I would also suggest CompTac CTac of MTac. I have a MTac for my Glock 19 and 27 and a CTac for my 5 inch 1911s. I really like them and they are really thin. I have a few leather holsters as well. Lasco Leather has some really nice holsters at a really good price but he is not accepting work right now. 5 Shot leather is also top notch.

You can check eBay.....but they go for about $300+....so if possible either get on a waiting list(direct or distributor). Just make sure you do right by your Kimber and keep it in leather ha

My (summer) carry is a Kimber Ultra Carry II in a Tucker Texas Heritage holster with the velcro clips. It tucks in, and is invisible when I wear it at the 4 o'clock position. Highly recommend it as the most comfortable holster I own (the VMII comes in 2nd). Cost is $100, well worth it.

assuming you are still on the hunt for a holster: the crossbreed for most people will probably be about tied with the milt sparks vm2 w/ the vast majority of people who carry a larger handgun iwb...i want one for my govt model, and for my xdm40 if i ever get that brave, but i dont think i could put my kimber in kydex...not even half like the crossbreed

I'm still looking . I am about 5 11 and 15o pounds after a good visit to golden corral . I need something iwb that will hide my baby even when I'm just wearing a kinda baggy shirt that doesn't leave a bump. I just stick it in my pants now and keep the belt snug it works but I won't leave it cocked unless it's night or I'm in a area that looks like I shouldn't b there. The sad part is I carried my glock the same way and never worried . That's y I want a holster . Stainless shouldn't get holster marks as bad as blue
