im thinking of doing some customization to the finish on my 1911 (see avatar) by making the top of my SS slide and the areas in the bottoms of the slide serrations black in order to reduce glare and look cool (in respective order) i was considering using wheeler cerama-cote or something similar to do so

i was also planning on using masking tape and an xacto knife to mark off areas then painting and baking...does anyone have better suggestions since i honestly dont know what the hell im doing

dont put it on any peice of metal that moves on other metals... the stuff will act like sand paper and destroy your tolerances. Teflon is the way to go imo on automatics.

I know this is an old post but I want to put my :2c: in . I've used the duracoat products and had great results. Tuff and easy to do yourself. More color choices too. Well, my two cents is spent.

You've got a perfectly good option here in Tupelo that does it at Tupelo Custom Weaponry.
