I picked up a Cold Steel kukri machete this past week. It is certainly not anywhere near a real kukri from Nepal, but it is a handy tool on a 4 wheeler.

+1 on the handy tool. I have had one for about 15 yrs. I would say the newer ones are probaly not as good as the older ones. I think Cold Steel is like alot of Mfg'ers not making them in the USA. Just my humble opinion.

I like Cold Steel products and have been interested in the Kukri. Where did you pick one up? Pictures?
You can go directly to their website it coldsteel.com. You can get them to send you a catalog or order directly from them. Years ago some buddies and I ordered some of their seconds. All that were wrong with them was alittle blem on the blade or handle. You can save alittle money, but still get a good knife. Hope this helps. :sunny:

jbpmidas I got it at a knife shop in the outlet mall in Foley Alabama.
$25 with a sheath. That will teach my wife not to leave me to my own devices while she shops.;>)
You can order them direct or pick them up at gun shows.
You are right about them being made outside the US, Chestnut, but they are made in South Africa instead of China.
