Anyone here a fan of Cold Steel tantos? I recently bought a couple of older models, probably produced in the '80's. One is made with San Mai III steel. The other is probably AUS 8.

I've had a few over the years...Not a bad moderately priced knife.

Hard to sharpen once they get dull...I use my "pocket blade" from everything to cardboard box cutters to chopping small limbs...tough little knife...

lasts a couple years of tough use then I pitch em

Here's mine. Its about 10 years old or more; the ones with the brass hardware. Not sure of the steel. Its 3/16th inch thick. Says made in Japan on the blade. The original sheath was leather but when they come out with the plastic ones, I got one of those for it. The newer ones have a slightly redesigned finger guard on them and hardware is polished steel. I like it but it never became my go to knife.
