I agree. Buy an older Colt 1911 or Commander. My friend bought a new Colt 1911 and it would not drop the hammer, right out of the box. The disconnector part of the sear spring was too short. I replaced it with a GI spring and it worked fine. Also, you could see the mould lines on the hammer and grip safety. They never buffed them off. Also, the mainspring housing and trigger are PLASTIC, what an abomination for an $800 handgun. Quality means nothing to the gun makers, just the bottom line.bonedust75 said:
