xd 45 compact fine weapon

I kinda like the crossbreed holster....personal preference...it all depends on how you wanna dress...time of year etc etc

:welcome:
I'm a bigger guy, 6'0ish, 230-ish lbs, and I can carry a full size 1911 in my crossbreed supertuck in nothing more than a slightly loose tshirt(and by slightly, i mean non-skin tight, and not hugging my spare tire, but not pimped out baggy either). also the supertuck will fit EVERY xd pistol(if i'm not mistaken, if i'm wrong please correct me).

some people have to wear more to conceal.......but i dont personally buy into the claim that bigger people conceal better or easier, because our spare tires/love handles tend to actually push the butt of the gun away from the body, so a skinny person in a fairly loose tshirt should have no problems.

with the 4" barrel, and shorter frame, no one should have much trouble concealing the compact xd

so i'm with 'neck! i'd look at a supertuck, or even one of the similar holsters, like the comptac mtac, or galco kingtuck. I'm not familiar with the service or warranties of the latter 2, but I've dealt with mark from crossbreed several times, and he's been quick to respond, and quick to ship each time! and its hard to argue with a lifetime warranty!

If you're like most everyone else, you'll end up with a draw full of holsters. If you can, take the gun with you to the store, ask the clerk first, but try the holster on with the gun in it. (of course don't bring any ammo in with it and make sure it is unloaded) See how it rides, and feels. If you want to carry crossdraw at times, see if it will work ok for that. There is no shortage of holster makers or types. It can get complicated if you let it.

Can't go wrong with a Crossbreed Supertuck, really. I've used several Supertucks and several CompTac MTACs -- they are nearly identical in function and both work very well. The Crossbreed is a little "rougher" in finish, but is slightly thinner overall, while the CompTac seems to have a little nicer construction but is a bit thicker. The CompTac plastic belt clips are easier to clip and unclip, but the Crossbreed metal belt clips are more secure in my experience.

I've had excellent service from both companies. CompTac is a very well run business -- efficient, fast shipping, no problems, excellent customer service. Crossbreed is just as good (though shipping might be a little slower, as I'm not sure they have as many holsters ready to go), but dealing with Mark adds a personal touch that I like. Also, Mark at Crossbreed is a Christian and I like giving him my business.

Jake, you're right all XD's use the same holster. But the XDm will not work in a Xd holster.

IMO, supertuck is a great holster

Anyone ever used one of these holsters

Thanks Texas. I'm still shopping around, but so far I'm impressed with the crossbreed supertuck. I've asked some questions via email from them and they have been very prompt and helpful. Texas, there's also one called "The Answer" made by Tucker gun leather thats really nice too, if you haven't seen it.

cool thanks. I will check that out as well. Let us know if you find anything else about these. So hard to find a good IWB holster. I did order a crossbreed 7 weeks ago and still dont have it yet. Just found and ordered the MaxTuck one as well. They say 10-14 days... We will see. Take it easy!

I ve got a friend that wears "The Answer" with a full size 1911 and he loves it. He really recommended it to me. It's a little more expensive but apparently does a good job. I think it sells for around $140

Look OK, but the clips look kind of strange on the picture. Are they steel clips or plastic. I have heard of people with the kydex clips haveing breakage issues over time. I think this is the most expensive one out there I have seen like this with the hybrid type design. This MaxTuck one looks pretty cool and has interchangeable kydex for different guns.

looks nicer. Good pricing. Is the kydex interchangeable or do I need to buy 2 holsters for 2 guns... I like that you can change the kydex out on the MaxTuck and it comes in horsehide and colored and cammo kydex. pretty awesome looking. Does this Kwart come in horsehide
