I think so. I do know a couple of sheriff's dept in the Delta have Thompson 45 sub guns in the trunk of most of their patrol cars.

Can a LEO carry a class III weapon as his duty gun. ex glock 18, TP-9, or other PDW?

My next door neighbor growing up was a State Trooper, guess he would be about 80 now, I remember him having a Thompson in his trunk of his patrol car back in the 70's.sidroski said:Have a friend (ex-brother in law) who's father was retired JPD and deputy and served about 40-50 years so he knows about every LEO between 70 and 90 and said back in the day, the MSHP had some thompsons.
