Just got my daniel defense m4 monday and I was originally going to go with just the iron sights but have really been considering mounting an aimpoint micro on it. I really like the DD rear sight and do not want to change it, however, i cant help but think it would get in the way as a cowitness even if I went with a 1/3 cowitness setup. :scratch: Just wondering if anyone has had any experience using a fixed rear sight to cowitness and how they felt about it??

BTW I have a bushmaster using an aimpoint and YHM flip up rear sight which gives an absolute cowitness. I tried using it for reference and definitely decided against an absolute cowitness with a fixed rear sight was not for me, hence the 1/3 cowitness. Thanks !!

I don't think this will really help, but, I run a Larue fixed BUIS and Aimpoint with the red dot smack on top of the front sight. With both eyes open all I see is a red dot on the target. I have to close one eye and focus on the sights to see them.

Thanks for the input, seems like a fixed BUIS should work fine. Just was curious if anyone else was using that setup. Thanks again !
