For what? The land owners here just want me to get rid of them.DirtyWorks said:Trap em. They are worth way more alive than dead.
I was wondering the same thing, if your selling the pelts you still got to kill them to skin them after you trap them. :scratch:dnr1128 said:For what? The land owners here just want me to get rid of them.DirtyWorks said:Trap em. They are worth way more alive than dead.
Yep. The pelts from down south dont get thick enough to worry with selling. Only @ $5 -7 dollars each. Live, they bring upwards of $75. Big enough difference to consider.jakeg823 said:You trap them and sell them to people who do fox hunting and such.
Where at? They are all over the place here, and one that my neighbor (the main landowner) has seen is every bit the size of a GSD. If they're worth money I'll trap all day long.DirtyWorks said:Yep. There is a man who runs dogs through this area many saturday nights. I don't have his number but I can get it.jakeg823 said:If you know of anyone who hunts with dogs in your area they may be able to put you in contact with someone who trains them. I think it's the fox hunters association, but I'll have to check and see. Maybe I can find a link, but I know their annual books and stuff have contact information for breeders and such to get in contact with one another.
Ive never seen my papaw pay for one personally but I'm sure he would, I've seen him trap for other people though and he'd just keep the yote as payment for getting it off their land
heard that. my thoughts exactly. just can't do it on my grandfathers land myself, and too many neighbors around my house to do it(if they even come around our place)dnr1128 said:I'm mostly interested in the challenge of hunting an intelligent predator. That's what appeals to me about hunting them.

There is a very large and active pack here around my house, and I have permission from several of my neighbors to hunt them as much as I want. Any tips from experienced hunters?
any experience with that? i've personally seen about 20 or so caged yotes that my grandfather has caught out around puckett over the years...and i dont mean snared them and then put them in a cage...i mean we went out in the woods to his cage where the yotes had been caughtbtr568 said:You won't catch them in a cage......Leg traps and leg snares.Last I heard $75 to $100 is the going price for live ones.Don't forget you will have to get a trappers lic.
