This started with a new Remington 700 action

McMillan A4 stock with adjustable cheek piece

29 inch Pacnor barrel...fluted...1:12 twist...yeah she's a beast...wanted some extra length so I'd have plenty barrel if I ever needed to cut it down due to barrel wear

recessed crown

tactical bolt handle

Jewel trigger

Got Night Force Bases and Rings for her

Nightforce 12-42x56 going on her

Happy and very broke now....

Whats the muzzle velocity of the 29" barrel compared to a 20" or 24"? Very nice boomstick.

I can't really say for sure...there's no advantage to having a barrel this long...cept it looks different...Its not as heavy as I feared it might be. McMillan puts sniper fill in the foreend of the A4 stock...did not get the long barrel for more velosity...I got it so that after 5 or 6K rounds I'd have enough to lop off a couple inches on the chamber end and then I could shoot a 27 inch barrel a while...

Oh Yeah...has an adjustable butt plate as well...it takes quite a while to pick out features on a A4 stock

I'm gonna have the stainless dulled down a bit and have a little "bling" design added to the barrel...then shes done...

Been waiting since July 3rd...so I'm ready!

Ahh I got ya. That thing is beautiful tho. I'm going to be buying a Rem 700 here soon and I was trying to decide on the 20" or 24" barrel.

beautiful build. What does it tip the scales at? I love that color and design on the A4- you are right about it being a bugger to decide on what you want on a mcmillian stock- there are so many options- yours turned out great. What is the wait on their stock now? still 6 months?

I bet your like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting to get the scope mounted and get to the range. :bigtu: on a great looking rifle.

Biggest hold up was the wait on the stock.

I ordered the marble because I beleive that is what is used by our sniper units...yeah I'm a wannabe

when you order the marble color you have to specify the percentages of each color you want them to use...

Its a crap shoot all the way...but each stock is unique....Tons of options on the A4...stock alone was $750 and a 4 - 5 month wait to boot..without going into details...if you gotta ask what it costs, don't build a custom bolt rifle...lets just say I've paid less for a new car...

Don't know the weight yet but its not that bad and it is very well balanced. NF scope, rings and bases are gonna add about 3 lbs I'm guessing....

1:12 twist I'm thinking 155 grain to 175 grain bullets are gonna be best...maybe try some palma's first...I dunno

Can't wait to fire that mutha

Can't wait to see some long range groups!
Yeah the trouble with one of these builds is u dream about it a long time....pay out a big deposit...wait forever....shell out a bunch more $ and then have to go through a painfull break-in...whatever that means....dream rifle expectations are high...so its easy to get disappointed...

I'm sure it will shoot better than I do

That's as nice a rifle as I've seen in a while. Post some pic's on your first target after it's broken in and the first kill you get. For that kind of money, you better let anything less than a 10 point walk on. Green with envy but glad you got the gun of your dreams.
Happy hunting!
