I can wipe my a$$ with a corn cobb also...but why would I want to...? :p

No way Jose...one little mistake on the shooters part and the animal suffers needlessly and then hunter might not find the meat.

Get something that will do the job...good clean quick kills...

+1 on human kills. I know lots of guys that got the 17 to kill hogs.. thats the biggest crock of ..... i have ever seen.. I watched a guy shoot a 400lb boar 8 times in the head and once in the ear with one of those. I ended it with a single 45 because i felt sorry for the creature.

.17 is for varmit class critters...Prarie Dogs, coyotes, beavers....too hot a rd for squirrels if you you like squirrel meat....None I ever shot with it was useable afterwards...I love popping buzzards with em

love the round...just not for deer..especially when better things are readily available

That reminds me, I need to book a P. Dog hunt...The ole Marlin Bolt action .17 is getting rusty... :lol4:

I concur with all that say use a caliber that will take down the animal as quickly as possible. Not only does the animal not suffer but a few seconds, you can harvest the meat. Hate hearing of an animal being wounded and then running far enough away it couldn't be found. But as Clint said "buzzards got to eat too."

I believe it is against the law to kill buzzards. Think where we would be if there were no buzzards to clean up dead animals. Fly and maggots by the gazillions. I once heard a man say if there was an afterlife and reincarnation he wanted to come back as a buzzard.....plenty to eat and no one screws with you.
