I'm sitting in a spot that should be crawling with deer. But the wind is blowing and I aint seen a thing. Its a new spot. At our place deer don't move much if any on windy days, but I wonder about elsewhere. I wanna hunt all day but almost leary to because of the wind.

How does yalls luck run when its windy?

Usually slower on windy days, BUT I have killed and seen plenty of deer on windy days as well. They do seem to be a little fidgety on the windy days. I'm going this afternoon if we can get these highways ready for the snow this weekend.

Wind changing directions every 20 minutes, stay/go home. Don't educate them anymore. Wind constant direction, I'd hunt if my stand area(s) permit. Winds less than 25 mph they will move 'cause they're nervous (one defensive mechanism compromised). Gene Wensel's book "Hunting Rutting Whitetails" has great info. on this subject.

Well with the exception of 2 hours I took for lunch I sat up there from daylight to dark and didn't see the first thing. Between yall's post and my experiences, I'm thinkin I'll stay home from now on when its windy. :)

The person who has the land text me this mornin and said his son saw an 18" + deer off that same stand. Lol. My luck!

But it was a fun day.

I hunted today on our club it was bad windy. I didn't see a deer. A good friend of mine killed a 7pt. at about 10am this morning on our club. He didn't get on his stand until 9am. He had to work 2nd shift last night. I think its being at the right place at the right time.
