Duracoat Finishing

Looking around on the internet I ran across Duracoat Gun Finishing and it looks pretty sweet. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with it? What equipment is needed to do it yourself? What is the process to do it? Etc. Any info would be great. Thanks

The prep work is the tricky part. The result of your finished product will depend heavily on how well you've prepped the gun. It's absolutely vital that you remove all oil and grease beforehand. You'll also want to rough up the existing finish before you apply the Duracoat. It will make for a better surface for the Duracoat to stick to.

It can be costly to buy all of the equipment and materials that you need to do large scale or complex work. That's why it can sometimes be considerably cheaper to have someone else do it for you. Experience counts for a lot too. I've noticed that Lauer is selling a kit that supposedly contains everything that you need to complete the job. These kits come in a very limited selection of single colors. I haven't tried the kits but I suppose it could yield a fairly decent looking product. If you decide you want to tackle it yourself and you hit any snags just let me know. I'll be happy to help you any way I can.
