Well I went with the Parkerized model. They don't come in Black T from the factory guys. I saw one on M1911.org that had the sides of the slide polished. Man that thing looked sharp! I may have to try that. But I have to wait till Monday for it to arive.

How permanent of a finish do you want?

I ask because black-T may be good for the barrels of bolt guns, but it doesn't stay very long on moving parts. The metal is still "rust-proof" but it won't be the color of the rest of the gun.

Duracoat is the same way. Looks good initially, but gets worn off pretty quick.

you did the right thing.

People black-T wasn't even an option. He's buying a new gun not refinishing one.

Had a revolver parkerized 10 years ago and never looked back. If you don't mind a dull finish, I recommend it. Since then, I had my Marlin .35 caliber lever-action brush gun parkerized. It is a low maintenance finish and I love the fact that it does not shine. The revolver is a concealed carry and it does not draw any attention if my jacket blows open. It's as if it creates its own shadow. In the end, it will come down to personal preference. Do you want functional or pretty. I am not saying duracote is not functional, just saying most people don't consider parkerization pretty.
