I know there has been post on this, but I am looking for different specs. I am looking for headsets that are amplified at 300 to 4k HZ or so for voice but muffled for shooting. I am service related deaf to a certain degree and cannot hear commands thus the amplification. The kicker is the need for amplified voice while muffling shots to hear commands. This may be in the wrong catagory so move if needed. Thanks

I have a set that Sportsmen Guide or Midway had on sale for like $29 a few years ago. They work well and the batterys have lasted a long time. I have used them wood working, running a chain saw, and shooting with out complaint. Don't remember the brand name, but I can tie a rope around my waist and try to dig far enough into the shop to get them if needed.

I've got a total of four sets of electronic muffs. They're worth their eight in gold IMHO. Make certain you can get a good check weld as some of the larger sets don't fit me well. They hit the stock pushing them up and off my ears.

My favorites are the Peltor 6-S. Great product at a great price.

These are very effective but aren't as comfortable as my Peltor Tacticals.

You'll find a set and price to suit your needs and I haven't found anyone cheaper on quality electronic muffs.

If I'm not too late, I like Sordins. They're a little pricier than Peltors and the like, but they're the only ones I've had that don't microphone when I'm around electric power lines, and they're very comfortable when I use them shooting rifles. They're the only earphones I can ever say I've used that I forgot about. I actually fell asleep once on my rifle in 85* weather while wearing them. (but that's 'nother story)
