Which Eotech sight and what model .44 magnum?

It can be mounted...maybe not easily but it can be mounted. The hard part will be finding and fitting a picitiny rail to the Taurus.

If he was in the army, my guess is it's probably a 552 which is the AA battery model. If it uses N type batteries it's a 551. If it uses CR123 and has throw levers it's a 553. If it uses 1 CR23 it's an XPS. Quick google search indicates that taurus seems to offer rails as an aftermarket accessory for their revolvers. Check with them first.

I have one mount on an AR -- I would question whether the EoTech would hold up under the recoil of full-house 44mag loads in a pistol? Anyone else?

Yea - I do understand that; however, those weapons are HEAVY and I would believe the transfer of recoil would be less; just thinking!!
