Re: Experienced Gun owner shoots himself ....

Never carry a semi-auto without a holster. I know a cop that made a new crease in his Arse with a Colt .45 Commander. Had it shoved in his waistband behind his back. Sat in a car, Ka-Boom

+1

I always have my LCP holstered. I'm so conditioned to not put anything else in the pocket I don't use it even when I'm not carrying.

This is a very good reason why one should carry in a holster. I think the state of Georgia requires, that if you carry concealed, that you carry the weapon in a holster of some type. I think most holster cover the trigger.

+1 Shoeshooter, I only use that pocket for my holstered firearm.
Yeah. takes some getting used to but nothing needs to be in there but your BUG. Everyone laughs at these stories but different angle and that could have hit his femoral artery. Bleed out quick unless help arrived.

I'm gonna have to call BS on this one.

Was the thumb safety disengaged? And how was the grip safety disengaged if it was simply shoved into his waistband?
