Go over to the "rimfire" section. There are a couple of threads that discuss this in depth.

Most do seem to have a problem getting enough elevation to be on target at 100 yds. Shimming the rear mount is a common and effective (also cheap) solution.

Of course "looks" are subjective, but I think they look like any other scope. Check out the pictures from the two matches we've had so far, you'll see a bunch of stuff, including several BSA's, both 24x & 32X.

They're plenty clear for what we're doing. Some like around 20-24X, some like 28-32X. For very few extra $$ you can go bigger and them dial it back if lower power works better for you. Pretty hard to go bad wrong for well under $100 delivered.

Read all the threads in the rimfire section since about mid-November. You'll be able to come to a decision you'll be comfortable with.

Natchez is still at $69 on the BSA 8-32 plus about $12 shipping and that irritating $ .75 "insurance" charge. Make sure you get the target reticle. I also have a couple of the BKL mounts, not cheap but very sturdy and easy to install. Get the cantilever D7 drop compensated one and you won't have to shim. Gives you lots of adjustment. They work equally well on both 3/8 and 11mm dovetails.

Shoe -- what reticle you got in the one you have?

What they call "target", basically NOT the Mil-Dot.
Do the reticles seem "thick" to you?

No, not to me, but I don't have much to compare it to. I'm happy with it, but could be I just don't know any better :)

The fine crosshair with target dot is the way to go for the type shooting we are doing. I liked the target dot of the BSA so well that I got a Bushnell 4200 with the target dot reticle replacement for my Kimber. I also have the same scope ordered for my Savage MK II TR and I have a Nikon Monarch with the target dot reticle coming in timorrow for my Savage BAS-K 308. Sounds like I "might like the target dot reticles".
