Staples, I really like the sword too, something my grandfather left me. I really wish I had more information on it but it doesn't have any markings or anything on it.

Fireman, yea its a different gun but its fun to shoot and pretty cool to have.

I love the SxS's and the .35 Marlin. How old is the Marlin?

It is hard to discern any real details from the pictures, but I think that "may" be a Type 32 Japanese cavalry sword. Got any better photo's (especially of the handle area)?
