I'm applying for an FFL for Curios and Relics and I have a question. I live in NW Rankin County between Lakeland and Spillway - out near NW Rankin High School and I'm trying to figure out who my Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) might be. Can't decide if it's the Rankin County Sheriff or the Flowood Chief of Police. Any of y'all from this general area have any answers for me? Thanks for the help -

Are you in the City Limits of Flowood? If you are send the copy to the police chief, if you are in the county send it to the Sheriff.

I have a C&R and tell you this.......

Pick one, either one..... I don't think it makes any difference. The BATFE is just looking a name and address.

NOTE: Getting an 03 C&R is easy and well worth the $30 for 3 years ($10/yr). Even if you don't like C&R guns, there are websites that give FFL discounts to C&R holders. I will not tell which ones.... You need to find out for yourselves...........

Live in the county so my paperwork went to the Sheriff. Check and application went to Georgia a couple of days ago, so now I just wait (anxiously) - gotta a purchase I want to make. Already found a couple of sites w/ discounts for FFL holders and I'll find more. Of course, SGF if you wanna drop a few hints, it'll just be between you and me -

I am currently waiting for my first 03 C&R RENEWAL to arrive. You have to send another "notice" to your local LEO for renewals. It is EASY, answer some questions, make a copy to send to local LEO, write another check for $30..... and buy a stamp.

Yes, a bound book of purchases is required. You also have to list the disposition of firearms, if you sell any of them.

It is for antiques, and there is a list on the atf site of what qualifies as a c&r gun. Generally 50 years old and older qualifies, but i have heard of exceptions too. there is class 3 stuff that qualifies as well. Many places gives the same discounts to c&r holders as they do full ffls though, thats the main reason im getting one soon

Well, three business days after mailing my check, BATFE cashed it - wonder if this means I can keep an eye on the mailbox for my 03 FFL? Just wondering -

I wouldn't get too excited yet Papa! When I renewed they cashed the check quick but it was a couple of months before I got the license.

An 03 C&R is a nice (and cheap) "tool" to have in your "gun box". Can save you $$$ and time when you find certain things...............
