I have finalized two loads for next years hunting season for my 300Win mag and my 358Win. I am using a 180gr TTSX for my 300Win and the 225gr Accubond for my 358Win. Results of my tests were as follows.

For the 300Win mag I used the following powders with Win Brass and CCI250 primers and with all powders listed the largest group with my 116FHSS Savage was 1.285" and the smallest group was .454"

RL-25 = 3051fps (fifth most accurate group .887")

RL-22 = 3099fps (fourth most accurate group .856")

RL-H1000 = 2968fps (worst group 1.285")

MRP-2 = 3025fps (third most accurate group .768")

MRP = 3129fps (second most accurate group .6789")

IMR4350 = 3052fps (sixth most accurate group .977")

H4350 = 3002fps (seventh most accurate group .989")

W-760 = 3074fps (most accurate group .454")

Most accurate group and load with 180gr TTSX 300Win Mag, W-760, 3074fps, .454"

For the 358Win, I used one load of TAC but two different primers Fed 215 and CCI250, with CCI250 primers giving more velocity and best accuracy.

Tac = 2552fps with Fed 215 primers

Tac = 2587fps with CCI250 primers and best group of .528"

Most accurate group and load with 225gr Accubond 358Win, TAC, 2587fps .528"

No pressure signs at all and very easy ejection.

Thanks, these will be very good loads in the field for sure. Yeah, I just need to hunt more than I did this last year and that has been already arranged for this up coming year with a few hunts out of state as well as in state. :)

I loaded some 225 acubonds in my 358 Win and had good groupings with it also.. Lost a deer with that bullet though, but I must admit it wasn't an ideal shot since I about fell out of the stand when I shot. Never did see where the deer ran off and never found any blood or hair.

I also loaded some 180 Grain Spire Point and 200 Grain Spire points for it and two shots two dead deer.

Here is the pic of the first doe I shot. She was facing me at about 50 yards bullet went into her chest on the right side and lodged just behing the shoulder on the left. She still turned and ran 60 yards and I think the only thing that stopped her was the tree she ran into. :thinking:

Here is a pic of the recovered bullet. I appears to have done its job still don't know how she ran that far.

2nd doe was also facing me at about 50 yards.. She was DRT..

Hey, really cool, seems to be working for you. Don't think the 225gr Accubond in the 358Win won't put a deer down in his tracks if the bullet is placed right. This one fell at 105yds right in his tracks.

I don't doubt it.. But I did find the recoil a little more user friendly with the 180s.. :bigtu:

I am going to have to give them another try. After about falling out of the chair I was in, I didn't even see if the deer jump, flipped or just ran off and no blood or hair it may have been a clean miss.
