New to reloading but been lurking on the forum for a bit

First 20 .270 cases are free of old primers and re-sized. Now if my Cabela's order will hurry up and get here I can seat some 130g Nosler BT in em.

Nice to know the first shells my .270 will ever see are going to be made by me

Congrats....

Think I would have started with pistol rounds...they were a lot easier for me to learn on....

Lots of stuff to watch out for...high primers for example...if you can set a primed case on a glass counter top and it don't wobble you are golden....whatever you do...don't double charge one or mix powders...Only one open can of powder on the bench at a time....Go slow stay safe

Think I'd load 5 and go shoot em before I made too big a batch

make a dummy round and try and load your rifle...you might learn a few things. Watch your OAL's if you are loading them into a magazine...sometimes if you are loading them "long" into the lands they won't fit a bolt action magazine

Lots of learning to do....you'll make plenty of mistakes...just don't make a BIG ONE!

Good Luck...easy does it..Let us know how they shoot

Thanks guys, the reason I chose 20 is for dev. purposes. 4, 5 round batches with different powders. Plan to work off the minimum charges and plus a couple of grains on second batch for each powder. From there I should be able to gather which is pulling a tighter group and finalize.

Rifle is a CVA Optima Elite

using IMR4350 & RL22

MSredneck: I got some .380 dies on the way. going to look into making a better stopping round since it's my CCW
