This is the first time since I picked it up two and a half weeks ago that I could get out to shoot it, and man what awesome weather today! I got down to our land and pull up on the 'pistol range' just in time to see an armadillo scurry off and see he's completely trashed my shooting area - I'll have something for him next time though  Back to the range report, I've shot a 4" 1911 before but I found I have some work to do with this little guy to get really consistent with it. I shot around 125 rounds through it and only had 1 ftf, it was with the original mag which needs to be rebuilt so I spent the rest of my rounds on the Tripp Research mag.

These are all in sequential order, my shooting continued to get better until the last magazine. These are also all from 15 yards:

Nice weapon! I just sold my Kimber SS ultra carry II. :-( Now I'm starting to regret that decision.
This is my second Kimber complimenting my Custom II, I want to do some custom work on this one and have it black-ted in a two tone but not until I know it's reliable!

I find any gun I sell I end up regretting, even the muzzle loader I traded in on my Custom II :(

I have a Compact CDP2, and if you're needing more mags I cannot recommend the Kimpro Tacmags highly enough!!! My compact loves them. I saw that Hunter's hollow up there yesterday has a large supply of them...not cheap at $30, but not much difference than any other good mag's price. I lucked out and found mine for 60% off when big bucks in Hattie was shutting down.

The Wilson mags are ok I guess. I have a few....but won't be buying more. They're pretty reliable but the springs in all 3 are a joke.

Mine even likes the stock mags though too, except wen it had some extractor issues which Kimber fixed. When that was going on the stock mag, and wilsons would jam every other round and the Kimpros kept on trucking...plus they're all flush(come with basepads as well), which I prefer personally.

Beautiful pistol though! Been wanting a ultra myself...wouldn't mind one of the CT models to help offset my poor aim

I have 4 WC mags for my full size with about 200 rds a piece no issue, I have had a lot of success with the latest Tripp Research mags that I've tried but they are close to $45 for the compact mags so I don't consider $30 for a compact mag to expensive. Tripp also sells rebuild kits which is what I will put into the factory Kimber mag that came with the gun. Appreciate the lead on the Kimpros, I don't go in Hunter's Hollow often.

I would have preferred a CDP but I kind of fell into what I considered a deal on this one so I can't complain about it.
