A while back there was a thread regarding the FN 5.7 pistol. Unfortunately, I could not find it. I'm curious to get some feedback from anybody on the forum who has one of the pistols. I don't want to debate the good points/bad points/usefulness/uselessness of the caliber. I'm very, very familiar with the round. I would just like a little feedback on the pistol platform itself.

For a variety of reasons, I'm thinking about trying to trade into one. I would appreciate any input from those who have direct first-hand experience with the pistol.
Thanks,
Gonzo

I have one, my cousin has one too. We both LOVE them. They are accurate, light, easy handling and offer good control and follow up shots. They are still pretty light even with 20 rds in the mag.

Cons...they are costly, limited factory ammo choices, they are light but somewhat big for any kind of real conceal carry.

Factory ammo is fun (but weak and sort of expensive) to shoot. However, for true 'duty' type rounds you must try some of the stuff from Elite Ammunition. They load to the pistol's potential!

i guess nobody has shot a 5.7 at a steel plate then. unless you shoot them dead center or a little high they will not fall over. the big bowling pins take multi shots. The 9mm has more ft/lbs and only 400 fps slower. the only danger i could see is posible splater but i get peppered by pistols at every match i have ever been to. So unless your shooting AP rounds AS500 plates are just going to sit there and smile back at you.
