over powdercoating projectiles instead of traditional lube.
This is after 500+ rounds down the pipe without cleaning.

I actually thought about putting it back together without fooling with it. The feed ramp and mag well were very powder fouled so I went ahead.
And....as a side note.....there was a discussion on 1911 buffers. I wish I knew how many rounds this one has on it

Still as firm as the day I put it in.

I may be wrong but the reason your buffer is unscathed is your recoil spring is not allowing your slide to hit your frame.

That black round tube contacts it. The recoil spring is captured within the tube and I have a wire thru that rod compressing the assembly together. There are makings on the buffer from contact....it's just not busted up

If the slide is hitting the frame you either have a worn out or weak spring and it should be replaced as soon as possible as this condition leads to frame battering and in extreme cases frame cracking.

No slide contact.......I don't think I'd ever wear out a recoil spring, but I'm trying lol

About 2000 rounds is the time to start watching in .45 ACP. A few more in 9MM. I think you are pretty good to go for the time being.

Lord yeah! My fingers go thru hell.

I often wonder how some techs keep wearing those gloves all the time. I try and they last about 10mins and then a hole appears. It's not that I haven't tried lol.
