With all that’s going on with the new pistol brace rule I’m thinking about going ahead and registering my Scorpion as an SBR. I was going to do it when I got it a few years ago but never did. I bought the 922 compliance parts kit and installed the parts and put a brace on it instead of the folding stock to keep it legal but I still have the stock . Can I do the Form 1 myself or do I need a dealer to do it? Does it have to be engraved? I have a few other NFA items on a trust, is it better to add the form 1 SBR to the trust or just do it as an individual? Are fingerprints required? What about law enforcement sign off ?

Not sure about adding to a trust or not. Mine are individual. Will need to be engraved on the serialized part once approved. It’s just your name/trust name and city, state. I’m sure can see where others have done it online. EFORM1 online isn’t bad at all. Fingerprints have to be submitted. Within 10 business days I think. 10 or 14 can’t remember.
