Seems CMP came across some brand new OLD Garands that were never issued! I am told most are Springfields with a few H&R mixed in. These were discovered in a shipment from overseas and there seems to be a couple hundred of them. My understanding is they are left overs from the Korean War production -- NEVER ISSUED! Maybe if I sell all I own, I can pick one of these up! Pictures Anyone?

I would assume that they all will be auctioned on the CMP site and not sold directly. I would not attempt to guess what they may bring. I do know that CMP auctioned a pair of new H&R Garands in original factory boxs, serial numbers 5531539 & 5531060 (12/54), and the pair sold for $22,505.00. I guess the original boxes were probably worth $5,000 or more to a collector.

I'll assume that the boxes aint very valuable without the guns...at 22K for a pair, Gen Patton himself will have had to shot and killed Germans with 'em

Now talking about a "pair"...How about Patton's Irory handled revo's....wonder what they'd fetch LOL

Must be nice to have that kinda funds.

Guess Orest whiped out some nice "toys" just in time for the Holidays

Just a side note, not to hijack the thread. If you are ever around Louisville KY, go by Ft Knox. They have the Patton Museum and they had his S&W .357's on display. Lots of cool tanks like the King Tiger and a bunch more. Went to son's Cav Scout graduation. Mother loved it because they had an Elvis (he was a cav scout) loaner display, couldn't drag my Mom away from that.

Back to the topic - if I were born rich and not so good looking (yeah, right) I'd love to get ahold of one of them Captain. Nice pics BTW.

I would rather have my Service grade. One round and the vlue of the unfired one goes down. I am not a collector, I am a shooter.

I like mine too! It would be cool to have an unfired one just because not many people could claim that title. I wish these warhorses could speak though and tell us of their many adventures.

Swede62 -- I am with you on that one ... I have plenty to just shoot. It would be about "history" and having something different.

I love it. I got a Garand from SOG about two months ago and they were in actually in good condition and I got the grade II for 495 plus shipping which it was 509 all together. I got the guns in two days also. They are really fast.

P.S. :sheep: I have never seen something so BEAUTIFUL!

I know how you feel! I felt the same way when my package from the CMP arrived.
