designed for bolt action...not enough power to operate semiauto ?
Most bolt action 22 rifles shoot standard velocity more accurately than high velocity. Standard velocity cycles my 22 semi autos( pistols & rifles) just fine.

I've run a few rounds through my marlin model 60 and it functioned fine, I have ~2K rounds stored up for my marlin XT-22, accurate as heck through that rifle, consistent hits @100yds on a 4" steel plate, I haven't checked on paper but I believe it would be sub 2.5 MOA if I took my time with my shots.
