Not sure what the view of Gerber knives is on this forum, but I have a couple, and like them for the most part. But I have a problem w/ knives, the clips NEVER last. so i took Gerber up on their lifetime warranty on 2 knives a F.A.S.T. Draw, and a Remix(which the clip only lasted bout 2 days on). I emailed them, the response email only offered to send me a clip for the fast draw, so i reminded them of the remix, and it was corrected and the clips came(separately due to the small error, which really was no biggie, just aggravating).
Due to a mixup on my part, i had one shipped to my moms address(because its my usual shipping address), and one to my rental house in Hattie. So i got the fast draw in hattie first, so i went out on the hunt for a T6 Torx wrench to install my new clip with. Finally found one at Lowes, in a freaking $15 screwdriver set, so I gave and bought it, no biggie, got home and took the old clip off the knife and it was the wrong freaking blade!!! emailed them again, they sent me a new one, the exact same! tried again, same problem!
Then, I went home for the weekend and got my Remix clip, tried to install it, the holes were machined crooked so I couldnt install it!
So, I emailed them, and highly recommended that they send me a packaging slip so that I could ship them my knives so they could fix it themselves, because after 4 times I was tired of it! They said they don't do that, but they would send me a package for my knives to return them, and would REPLACE them for me! GREAT!
happy Jacob!
well I got the package, opened it up, dropped the knives in, threw it in the mailbox...2 days later I realized, stupid me! I DIDNT WRITE MY RETURN INFO ON IT!!!! Felt like an idiot, emailed them to alert them to the problem, then received a email back almost immediately saying ~"well, is there anyway that you might have written your return address in the package?", I wrote back "well didnt I just say that I didnt?" No more emails for a couple days. wrote back again, they said they'd keep an eye out for my package. It came in friday with both knives, brand new. the Remix is even a updated model, with a more traditional blade lock.
So overall i'm very satisfied, just someone in shipping or whatever needs to pull their head out of their butt and send the right clips for a knife.
Kershaw on the otherhand, sent me not one but two CORRECT clips on the first try.
