I just got a Glock 22 gen4 last week. It's my first semi-auto pistol.
I put about 50 rounds through it so far and I really like it.
The trigger seems a little heavy, I was thinking about taking it to the
gun show next weekend and getting a 3.5lb trigger connector installed.
What do you guys think?

It's according to what you plan to use it for. If you're going to use it as a carry gun I would leave the stock connector in it. If you're using it for plinking/target shooting go ahead with the 3.5# connector. Either way I would polish the internals. The polishing makes it much smoother. I keep anything I carry stock. The Glocks I use for target and hunting have the 3.5# connector, polished internals, heavier trigger spring, pre-travel and overtravel adjustments. Just my opinion.

Carry = stock connector plus polishing.
Plinker = (-) connector and polish. If u want really light (competition style, I'd install a comp spring and it can get down too about 2.6- 2.8 lbs. )
Never change a carry gun JMHO.

Just like the others said, if it's a carry gun then keep the factory connector and just polish the internals, since it's a full size glock and your first semi-auto handgun I just assumed it would be a range/self defense gun and not a carry gun. No need to take it to a shadetree smith at the gun show, if your in the Jackson area bring it by my house and I will install the connector free of charge (you supply it or you can buy one off me, I have quite a few on hand) and polish the internals for $10 (just because it's takes some time to polish everything just right). There are various other things you can do to enhance the trigger but those are the two most common modifications and generally satisfy anyone who doesn't shoot in competitions with their Glock. I can also install a set screw for overtravel adjustment in your factory trigger housing, radius the safety plunger or install a titanium safety plunger (they are already modified correctly), etc. I'm a Glock Certified Armorer and have been building custom Glocks for about 3 years now.

Total for installing the 3.5lb connector, polishing the internals, and the cost of the connector would be $24. I would suggest doing that first and seeing if that improves things enough to your satisfaction before you try anything else. If your interested shoot me a pm. Turn around time is an hour from when you drop it off (I have done well over a 100 of these so it doesn't take me long).

Spencer do you work on other pistols? HK, XD, XDM??? if so where do you live in the Jackson area? would love to get the internals polished on mine. I am not to handy with small pieces due to nerve damage and not knowing how?

I'll have a booth at the show this weekend. You supply the connector and I'll put it in for you (no charge). RSM688 and G1D are right about polishing the trigger components. It will help but BE VERY CAREFUL. Don't remove too much metal. Only polish it. You could accidentally end up with a very unsafe weapon if you're not careful.

BTW I'll probably have on a MSGO tshirt and there'll be a digital camo Remington 700 VTR in the center of the table. Holler at me if I can help you with anything.

I sure do, I am located in North Jackson about 2 miles from the Northside drive exit on I-55 (near Ridgewood road). I am going to be in town next Monday-Wednesday and will be out of the country until Christmas Eve, although after Christmas is fine as well. Just shoot me a pm and we can work out the details if you want me to polish them up for you.

Thanks for the offer, I'm going to get together with RSM688(Spencer) and let him do the install and polish.
I don't trust myself to polish it. I may stop by and say hi anyway. Everyone on here seems to be a good
group of people.

Just wanted to say thanks to Spencer(RSM688). He did the
trigger job on my glock yesterday. He is a good guy and does
good work.
I dont know much about glocks but it feels like the trigger has less travel and a cleaner break. I'm going to shoot it for a while, I may have Spencer go one step further and lighten the trigger a little more. I probably just need to shoot more and get use to the glock.
