Since pushing all in to 40S&W, I've been carrying my 23 and 27. I've found I enjoy the 27 size grip, so much so I did a slight chop on my 23. I took my time with it, but I may need to work over a couple of places where I cut. It feels like a solid and secure grip. I like how the grip can still offer a small, subcompact profile, or I can bump it up to the 23 or 22 magazines. Even though I had a true 27 already, this makes a second cc pistol with consistent fit.

I've done that one too. Chopped a gen 2 17 to a 19. It's easier than cutting down to a subcompact. You don't have to account for the cutouts around the magazine floorplate.

Used a hacksaw for the first cut. That put me where the flush fit mag for a 27 would be. Next, I used a dremel with a cutting disc to make the cuts for the magazine to fit. The subcompacts are a little tricky to cut because if the lips to fit around the mags. To finish, I used the felt and rubber attachments on the dremel. It felt very solid and secure.

The target below is 47 rounds ( 9rd, 10 rd, 13 rd and 15 rd magazinrs) fired from the gun after the chop job at around 9 yds, rapid fire

I did a grip reduction on my 27 and 23 and they are about the same size as a 43 just slightly thicker. they are actually easier to shoot then the 43 for me

It's easy for the cutting to get out of hand quick. My two chop jobs worked out good, but I think my chopping is done. My chopped 23 to 27 was good, but I missed the 23 sized frame more than I thought. That was an easy fix, though, got a new frame.

Use the G22 mag and an XGrip adapter to make it all look, feel and work like it came from the factory.

I found one on GunsAmerica. It came from a gun shop out of Miami. A stripped frame and a Glock 23 13 round magazine, $90.00 shipped to my FFL dealer.

I'd try it with the polymer 80 frames.
