I finally found the breaking point for the "competition" spring kits. Yeah with a (-) connector and the kit you can achieve less than 3# trigger pull, but all good things come to an end eventually and I found the end. The answer is approx. 5k rounds in a 9mm. Mine wore out at that point and light striked about 10 times within 50 rounds using factory ammo that has never caused a problem before. I used ammo in another gun with same kit installed and it ran fine. I have now decided to change kits every 2500-3000 rounds so this won't happen again. I just thought other who might be using the spring kits should know when to expect trouble and change before it does.
We've had the spring discussion here before and i just wanted to provide more facts.
Atleast I got good practice clearing malfunction i suppose. Since I never had to practice much before doing that.

The spring wore out Cliff. The spring has sprung it seems. That CZ is nice, but I love my Glock and u must 2 if u got 50k plus in one. Lol.
I have realized if u run a comp gun, it will eventually have some kinda issue. Fix it and rock on.

zevtek(sp?) spring. It didn't break, it has no tension per se. My trigger pull was super light (too light really) which started causing the problem with the light strikes i believe. I have/had no problem with the ammo and have since tried it in other gun with no issue. I put a new spring in, so we'll see what happens now.

I have me a S&W 686 cut for moonclips that is about to start as soon as I get me a rig for it.

I have resolved that 3K striker spring issue... with a jager striker. Mine took a crap at about 1200 rounds in 40 S&w. using the same spring (the one that was sprung and light struck winchester primers by the hand full) with jager striker it will now set off wolf primers. which it would not do in brand new condition. next time I see you gunny I will show it to ya. was a cool xmas gift from the wife.
