Gonna have a "Garand" time Sunday Feb. 6

I've been enjoying all this .22 shooting, but a steady diet of rimfire off a rest at 100 yds. with 32x optics is making me soft and complacent!

Weather forecast for this coming Sunday is pretty nice, so I think I'll head to Magnolia and set up at 200 yards. The new H & R M1 Garand needs a good trial. May even take the 91/30, M1 Carbine, and Yugo Mauser. Have a MilSurp Sunday.

Anyone else need to shake off the cobwebs?

I may just see you there ... need to get the old/new Winchester Garand shooting straight --- It has some issues that need working on -- just got frustrated with it and put it back in the safe ... time to get it out and settle the issues!!

It's "Super Sunday", so trying for about noon. Head home about 4:30...heard there's a little football game that night. :)

I'll come, I need to practice shooting my AR at 200, might even break out the Enfield, even though Capt gonna talk bad about it being sporterized. :lol4:

A little shootin' on Super Bowl Sunday sounds good to me. Not sure what I will bring, but plan on being there.

I may be able to make it.

Need to get my scope mounted and sighted in on my new .444 Marlin Handi-Rifle that I bought at the end of season this year.

Might also bring a Garand to do some serious paperwork. Got a Winny that all I've done with so far was a little informal paper target shooting and plinking.

Shoe, bring your Mauser. I will show you how to disassemble the bolt.

Thanks. Will do, if I can find room in the car. Really need to get the van running again.

Had a good time today...even though a couple of black rifles crashed the MilSurp party :) Took a couple of pics, fired a few rounds, mostly shot the bull.
Trying to remember everybody: Captain-03, SubGunFan, Slngblde, PhillipM, BubbaT, XD357, M1GarandFan, and several more.

M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, Yugo Mausers, Mosin-Nagant M44's, assorted .22's & AR's.

See y'all next Super Sunday

I had more than a little fun! After shooting about 50 rounds of corrosive ammo, I cleaned my Mauser by pouring a quart of boiling water down the pipe through my bore guide, followed by another quart of boiling water down the pipe! After that I cleaned it normally with Hoppes #9 and oiled the bore. I've not fired that thing in years, thanks for everyone bringing theirs out!
