Just ordered this stuff from Underwood. Should be here early next week or maybe by the weekend.

45 ACP +P 255gr. Flat Nose Hi-Tek Coated Hard Cast Hunting Ammo

9mm Luger +P 147gr. Flat Nose Black Cherry Coated Hard Cast Hunting Ammo

Not cheap, but sometimes you just gotta satisfy your curiosity. I'll pass along the results after I try it out and get my hand fixed. ;)

Underwood is typically good stuff. Stout
I've been using their .41mag for several years, so the only thing I'm really interested in is how well (or poorly) this particular ammo cycles in a semi-auto. I know it will penetrate well, but I'll probably set up a multi-layer hardwood target for the trial run.

Underwood is a lot like BuffaloBore. Both load stuff stout to maximum or near maximum safe levels. They use quality components and have never had bad results with their ammunition. I get some of their .45 Colt +P loads and used to get their .327 Federal Magnum loads too until they quit loading it. I suspect it won't disappoint.

Here's a 25 minute video of a ammo test on a couple dead hogs. A little gritty, if you ain't up for some carving. Uses 9mm, 10mm, and .45acp.

I use their ammo in 9mm, .40, 10mm, and 7.62x39, haven't ever had an issue, I like their extreme defender loadings.

I recently bought some of these: 9mm 68 Gr GTFO 1776 fps (mchenrycartridge.com), but when I bought mine the box and ad said 1875 FPS not 1776 FPS, I ran some through some 9mm glocks, accuracy and function were great. Hadn't shot anything but paper and steel with them though. They are half the price of Underwood, and they say the case can be reloaded like 30 times.

FWIW, I generally favor heavier-for-caliber ammunition, rather than light bullets. A light bullet at higher speeds may have identical kinetic energy as a heavier bullet at lower speeds, but IMHO the heavier bullets are generally more effective.

UPS delivered my ammo today. Tried it out in the Tisas and P365, one mag of each. Cycles normally, goes bang. Recoil was not noticeably heavier than any other ammo for these guns. I think the 9mm case might be a tiny bit fatter than my usual Hornady. Could only stuff 11 rounds in the Sig 12rnd mag.

Tried out this 9mm Underwood in a couple other guns, just to satisfy myself that they aren't going to have a problem with the Underwood. My old Ruger 9e, a S&W M&P EZ, and the Glock 34 MOS. Ran great in all 3. I've always liked the 9e and have probably put 3 or 4 times as many rounds thru it than the other 3 combined. It was my EDC for several years, but switched to the P-365 a couple years ago purely for the smaller size and weight.
