Good Deals Thread

I've seen this on a couple other forums and really like the idea. Basically, post up good deals that you have found while shopping on the web or in the "real world." No advertising stuff for sale - there's a For Sale forum for that. Just point your fellow gun owners to deals that may be of interest to them.

I'll start with an example:

Never seen anybody build a business on losing money. :hmm: Hows that work?o_O
Not sure how it works (I'm not that smart) but sure you have. The whole dot com bubble was built on losing money.

Things are just beginning to catch up with the scare over? The sale of guns are down and fewer customers for everyone and in particular the small family run stores they are beginning to feel the crunch more than ever.

The .com bubble happened when the stockmarket wonks looked up from their CompuServe dial-in accounts and "discovered" the Internet (in the 90s) and wildly purchased or invested in various Internet based businesses, like the Spanish sending fleets of conquistadors and treasure ships to the new world. Stupid (and predictable) things happened then. Like Time Warner, a company with actual assets and income, spent a fortune subsuming itself to AOL, a company with virtually no physical assets (hence "AOL Time Warner"). Many a new .com stock soared from it's IPO offering price to multiple times that amount in the space of a day or two. At some point (with the lightening fast reflexes of a banana slug on downers) the stockmarket wonks finally realized that many of the things they were rushing to purchase/fund in cyberspace were based upon unsustainable fantasies and many of the .com stocks and companies crashed as a result.

The current .com bubble is the same. Tech startups get bought for huge sums these days, despite never having turned a profit. In fact, its a business plan for many of them. Make it splashy, generate a lot of buzz, and hope that somebody like Facebook or Google buys your company.

I like mich ultra. Not a coors fan, but I'll drink anything that's offered to me.

It's guy code, your favorite beer is free, your second favorite is cold.

It's acceptable if it's early in the day and I won't be home till late. But that's the only time.
