Did a little trading and got another 1911. This time it is in 9mm though. Last 1911 9mm I had was a Citadel so this one works out just right. It is a Citadel 9mm just like the one I owned before. Now to decide to make it a old man 1911 as some one I know calls it ( Mil Spec type). Or leave it set up like it is with extended beavertail and ambi safeties.

Took it out back for a test run today and had 1 miss out of 2 mags on the 10" steel plate @ about 20-25 yards. Seems like the 1911's just point naturally for me. Couple more magazines and it will be all set.

Nice one, Rig. I'm gonna get another 9mm 1911, too - one of these days.
IMO, with those forward slide serrations, it'll never be an "Old Man's" mil-spec type, so it's best to leave it alone.

These are the two 9mm 1911's I had:

A commander size, made by STI. (It had the forward serrations, too)
Camouflage Green Military camouflage Air gun Trigger

A Star model BM (not a ""true"" 1911, but close enough that I claim it).

LOL, Defiantly no rattle jobs. Can't guarantee that I won't go to a non beavertail grip safety and spur hammer.

But for right now just changed out those ugly grips to some better looking ones.

I agree it needed those wooden grips, but it looks really nice how it is. So if it were mine I'd leave it be, it isn't mine however so, just post whatever you do lol.

Looks great to me as it sits. I never had one in 9mm. Do they need a barrel ramp to feed or in the frame ramp?
I figured the 9 is a little smaller than 45 acp so geometry would need to be altered somehow

Rig, gunmetal gray looks just fine on that one.
It has all the nice features.
Whats wrong with cleaning, oiling & shooting it?
You ain't gonna take it to bed with you a stare at it all night, I hope?
