I just got it... he tried to go up on me. he said 175.00 but i got it for 140.00. still seemed like a pretty good deal to me. he through in a couple of boxes of shells. its in really good shape. one nitch on the forearm top but other than that it is in fine shape. i'm probably gonna go synthetic with it anyway.. not sure yet though..

I'd stick with the wood...just looks better to me. No need to "dress it up".

They just look better in their original form to me. I don't like sporterizing military arms...I figure if they were good enough for the soldier like that, then they are certainly good enough for me. I know it's an SKS...but same basic principle applies, in my book.

Agree with BladeZealot --- it was born wearing wood!!

I did put one in synthetic a couple years ago -- accuracy went to [email protected]

kowen, hopefully the rifle has been cleaned well but make sure the firing pin rattles when you take it apart. They can be gummed up with cosmoline and I have seen lots of pierced primers and one slam fire as a result. Good deal on the rifle.

Ya know.... I've done bought it... But, I will leave it to you in my will, Will, if it blows up and kills me.. how'd that be? :bigtu:
If you insist. I try to be helpful and no one takes my advice. That offer goes for anyone who thinks thinks they have a gun that is unsafe. Specifically Colt Pythons, anything engraved, and anything that rhymes with 1911.

$125 is a great price!!! I sold mine about 3 months ago and got $300 for it. Kinda miss it now but it help get me my Ruger SP101. Its my fav little revolver!!
Do you like the SP101? I just picked up a SP101 chambered in .327. So far so good after one box of ammo. I like the .327 round because it has the wallop of a .357 and the recoil of the .32.

The SKS sells for $195 to $250 in my neck of the woods.
