I would like to learn how to glass bed a rifle. I have read allot on it and watched several u-tube videos but just don't feel comfortable with my 1,000 dollar rifle yet. I have a Rem 700 that I would like to put a B&C Medalist stock on and skim bed the aluminum block. I will buy all the supplies and give you whatever is left. I will also buy the beverages. I live in Southaven. I would really like to learn how to do this instead of just taking it to a smith(which I really can't afford right now).

Unless you can find someone close to you. It would be cheaper to pay a gunsmith in your area. Learn at another time maybe. What you are asking for is not all that expensive. Yes it's more than a standard bed job since the block is not in the stock already. Have you priced the job in your area?

Surely there is someone around Southaven that can show you or a smith that will help you.

This is not something that can be done in one day. Two trips to wherever would be needed.

A standard bed job on a rifle is about 175 dollars around here. I had one done on my savage not too long ago and posted the results of that on here which everybody thought the smith did a horrible job. I have access to a range and am starting to shoot (and buy rifles) pretty regularly. I would like to be able to do my own bedding jobs from here on out. I have college buddies scattered all around the state, especially in the Jackson and South ms area, so traveling isn't that big of an issue. Just looking for someone willing to pass a little info along.
