So I broke out the polishing wheel and did what I could. I know some people are going to ask why I would make an AR shiney but think, how often are we running through the woodskillin zombies? We are mostly at the range or at a 3 gun match killin paper so what does a little bit of shiney matter. And since its a lot smoother it is a lot easier to clean. Here are the pics. You could now say its got the mexican chrome package haha.

Well the bolt and carrier stays oiled as with the take down pins. And I always wipe the exterior down with a silicone wipe after I clean it. And I have a lead on some oil you bake into metal and it takes the worry out of rust. Thanks and if anyone wants things polished let me know haha.

could you have those parts hard chromed and still work?
Maybe but it may be hard to get them the right size. Some parts are working with thousands of an inch clearance and with chrome it adds material. And I wouldn't want to chrome because it could flake off down the road. I just like the polished look, it seems cleaner. The downside of this method is you can see all the tooling marks left over from manufacturing, DPMS doesn't have the best quality with it comes to a finish. I had to mildly grind a few parts just to get rid of the tooling marks. I'm going to try to polish the inside of the bolt carrier but I don't know how well I will be able to.
