Just got my new 1911 today. It's a Springfield Range Officer 45ACP. I'm hoping to do a few things and then use it for bullseye this season. As you can tell from the pic I'm ready for some shooting in.

So far the pistol looks great. It has a nice action and trigger out of the box. Trigger pull is probably about 5lbs and everything fits great. I'm going to get to the range ASAP and run a couple hundred rounds through it and see what I'm working with. I want to use it for bullseye, so I know that some work will be done. And Jay was pretty easy to deal with. He does however need to be a little better about giving directions to the house.

When you live that far out directions are not easy. If it makes you feel better, I leave bread crumb trails when I leave.

I plan on doing alot of my own work on the pistol. After I get more familiar with it I'm probably going to start with a little trigger work and go from there.

I had my hands on that 1911 yesterday. That is one nice hot-rod. Slide to frame, barrel fit...everything....probably some trigger work to be done, but otherwise perfect.
