i do not, but i do have a policy through my local state farm agent. I have a seperate personal property policy just for my guns in addition to my Homeowners policy( which provides very little coverage for firearms and jewlery). Any time i add or delete a gun i just forward the description and the amount i want covered to my agent, they add it and a couple weeks later i get a bill if the premium had an increase. I had one claim in 15 years and it was handled very quickly.

I had a similar State Farm policy that I thought was VERY REASONABLE for what it offered/covered.

For no good reason (Katrina!) I let it lapse and have never taken it back up again....my own stupidity.

It is on my 'to do' list for this week....thanks to this thread!

One thing I am not fond of...I have to submit a LIST and I know not where or who has access to it....not a huge deal to me since I am on the up and up with everything I have, it is just the point of privacy...

When you call ask for a personal articles floater. I know strange name. This is a means to insure something to value on a stand alone policy. Most jewelery is covered this way. The cost is usually $10 per $1000 in coverage per year. So you have $10,000 in guns the premium is $100 per year. They will need the particulars of each gun you schedule on the policy.

Guys remember that most homeowners policies do not cover more than $2500 in guns and related equipment. That is not enough.

Had a friend about 15 years ago learn this lesson the hard way. If my memory is correct i think he has about 20 guns stolen, of which several were very nice belgium brownings. His lesson was what caused me to start insuring mine on the seperate policy. We also have wife jewlery on it as well.
